About Me
Hi there, I am a musician and songwriter and love making original music and writing songs.
I am also an enthusiastic salsa and Rueda dancer since around 2009.
2012 ish: I was at a party and we wanted to dance rueda but there wasn’t anyone there who could call.
Consequently we called dame, then dame again… with maybe a sombrero thrown in (it’s hard to remember moves and call at the correct timing).
We did drop a few other moves but generally it was very unsatisfactory.
Brainwave: Add calls to a commercial song – but realized it was breach of copyright and therefore not possible.
SOLUTION:
I am a musician and songwriter so I set about researching salsa music. then in 2025 I produced a Rueda / Salsa Track and added Rueda de Casino calls.
RESULT:
At a party I played my first track (with calls) and explained my idea and everyone loved the idea and couldn’t believe:
“no-one had done this before”.
I explained it takes a LOT of work, time, musical experience and tenacity.
At the party I quickly made sure everyone knew basic moves (all were salsa dancers) and we had a ball.
“Where can we get it?” was the unanimous cry.
My plan is to have a collection of tracks for each tune, that I write, starting with a basic / basico calls for beginners and then have about 3 or 4 more with increasing complexity for advanced dancers.
I want to produce multiple tracks and do the same with them, each will be unique as far as the sequence of rueda calls.
